Its R&D activities span a wide range of fields, reflecting the substantial efforts and significant resources invested since its inception to address the research questions of academic investigators and R&D bodies in Israel and worldwide.

From its founding, all activities at the GLPigs Center have been conducted under the close supervision of an ethics committee composed of distinguished senior researchers, legal experts, and public representatives.  GLPigs is very likely the first and largest center in Israel in its specific field, with ethics committees reviewing its work daily and closely — a core principle that guides its operations.

Its unique location within the Shamir Medical Center provides access to an extensive network of specialists in every discipline. This ensures that any organization engaging GLPigs’s research capabilities benefits from close support in all activities undertaken. At the same time, academic or biotech companies are welcome to work with their own domain experts, who integrate seamlessly into the Center’s activities.

Since its establishment, the Center has hosted hundreds of physicians from every medical discipline, both from Israel and abroad. These experts act as “ambassadors” of GLPigs, returning to collaborate whenever the need and opportunity arise.
